The Sakhisizwe Information and Research Centre (SIRC) participated in a youth development seminar hosted by Khowa Public Library in partnership with Khowa Youth Guide and Development on 15 June 2026. The programme brought together young people between the ages of 15 and 30 to equip them with practical skills for personal growth, education, and future career success.

Representing SIRC, Ms. Fatima Nzulase facilitated an interactive session on Goal Setting and Time Management, encouraging participants to develop clear goals, manage their time effectively, and build habits that support long-term success. Her presentation emphasised that discipline, planning, and consistency are essential skills for both academic achievement and everyday life.

The seminar also featured Ms. Nonkululeko Nokhepeyi from Nelson Mandela University, who guided learners through the transition from high school to university. She highlighted the importance of making informed subject choices and understanding university admission requirements to improve opportunities for higher education.

In addition, Ms. Mgqatsa from the Department of Social Development addressed important social issues affecting young people, including child abuse, human trafficking, and domestic violence. She also provided information on the support services available to individuals and families facing these challenges.

SIRC is proud to contribute to initiatives that empower young people with knowledge, practical life skills, and access to information. Through community partnerships such as this, the Centre continues to advance its mission of promoting education, research, and sustainable community development across the Sakhisizwe region.
