ACTIVITIES

Although SIRC’s key focus will be on the youth, there are other related activities it will be involved in. One such project is the establishment of reading and writing clubs under the leadership of Professor Ntsebeza. He will set up these clubs and assist those who are interested in writing their autobiographies, about their families and about their areas and people.

 

SIRC will also encourage students to participate in the research activities of the Centre, in particular the projects that deal with family histories and the precolonial history of the Sakhisizwe area. In this regard, students will be encouraged to interview their elders, an activity that can be expected to influence and encourage some of them to continue to higher education.
