SIRC Strengthens Community Relationships Through Early Childhood Development Engagements
SIRC’s Early Childhood Development (ECD) research programme continues to gain momentum, not only through data collection but through deepening relationships with the communities it serves. This past week, the team was honoured to be invited to graduation ceremonies at Butterfly Pre-School and St Christopher Pre-School—an invitation that reflects growing trust between SIRC and local ECD stakeholders.
These invitations signal something significant: SIRC is no longer viewed only as a research body but as a genuine partner in the development journey of young children, educators and families. Being welcomed into these important milestones demonstrates that educators and principals recognize SIRC’s role in championing quality education and supporting their work on the ground.
This type of partnership places SIRC in a meaningful position—one where the organisation can influence, encourage and collaborate, while also learning directly from the lived experiences of ECD educators, children and parents. The graduations offered real insight into the aspirations and challenges faced by early learning centres in rural communities, strengthening the foundation for responsive and relevant research.
As SIRC continues its ECD research, these community relationships remain central to the mission: building an information hub that reflects the voices, realities and hopes of the people it aims to serve.
